I have uploaded all customer’s employee into BMC Remedy and would like to give them all default password. But how to reset all user password in a single action? So here it is. Shutdown the services and open the DBMS editor, in this case I use SQL Server. The main form is User and the table is t15 based on its arschema. To make sure that we will give the default password to particular users, we need to join CTM:People form and User form, so it would not affect all system users password.
We may execute these queries :
update t15 set c102 = 'a$BAsyHGmpC+1pwAzVsjpyLANNbhIPLh4Zc3Pgz+l9ot/ebwESJzj2UR+8UixvETkRc' where c101 in (select Remedy_Login_ID from ctm_people where company = 'YOUR COMPANY');
update user_cache set password ='a$BAsyHGmpC+1pwAzVsjpyLANNbhIPLh4Zc3Pgz+l9ot/ebwESJzj2UR+8UixvETkRc' where userName in (select Remedy_Login_ID from ctm_people where company = 'YOUR COMPANY');
Queries above are used to update all of user’s password. On my case I use “1” as the default password, so “a$BAsyHGmpC+1pwAzVsjpyLANNbhIPLh4Zc3Pgz+l9ot/ebwESJzj2UR+8UixvETkRc” is the encrypted password text for “1”. Then we can start the services again and try the password to login. Users that we will update are based on people in a company, so it must be safe. Do with your own risk! 😀
